Yesterday, I welcomed you into my new bloggy home. Today, I thought I might as well give you a virtual tour of my real home.
You know, so you can get an idea of what the McResidence looks like when you read about it.
Here is my front door all decorated for fall.
I love fall! Orange happens to be my favorite color. Now that you know what my front door looks like, it will be easy for you to find me. I live on a hilltop in a wonderful, little neighborhood that sits in the central area of a great state on the east coast of the best country on the planet.

This is the what you see when you enter my front door. Take a good look at that kitchen counter where the bar stools are. That is a rare sighting. That specific countertop is typically covered with all manner of papers bills junk mail domestic clutter. It is a chore just keeping it clear of debris. I love my kitchen, although I don’t spend as much time in there as I should. Over there on the left where the railing is… that railing leads to our basement. Oh, and the round item in the middle of the carpet is my iRobot ROOMBA. He’s my friend, and the closest thing to a maid I will ever have.

Here is my bathroom.
It’s not as glorious as it looks. While it should be a place of relaxation and solitude, that would only be possible if I utilized the lock on the door. I do enjoy a nice, hot, uninterrupted bubble bath about once a year, usually on Christmas Eve. And, I guess you can tell I do love me some Longaberger baskets.

This is my big, blue, bloggy chair
![]()
This is where I am when I dishing out my daily dose of crazy. Okay, so this isn’t my actual big, blue, bloggy chair, but as surprising as it may sound, I could not find one.single.picture. of myself blogging from my special chair. My big, blue, bloggy chair sits right beside of my front door and if my front door is opened, it hits the back of the chair. From my chair, I have a clear view of the corner of our front yard from the bay window and a large window on the end of our house that features a bright ray of sunshine everyday at approximately 4pm. Also, I have a straight view of the television which is typically blaring the Young and the Restless, Dancing With The Stars, The View or whichever reality show happens to be on that night. Anyway, you get the idea.

This is our loft.
And a really good picture of our hallway. The ladder that you see is the only way to access the loft. I suspect that once my boys discover that I don’t really like climbing that ladder, they will want to spend more time up there.

This is the living room portion of our great room that includes our living/dining/kitchen area. Oh, and you can plainly see my big, blue, bloggy chair right behind the door. And, that big eared Mickey Mouse appears to be doing his thing on the TV.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s tour. Our home is filled with laughter and joy with the occasional temper tantrum and argument over who has control of the remote. I love this place. It’s a great place to call home.
I love to entertain, so I’d invite you to stop on by any ole time. And, if your feeling frisky, you can bring dinner too!!! We never turn good food or good company away.
Hopefully you’ll stop by often! We have plenty of Dr. Pepper and our door is always open!

I love the McResidence. The pictures don’t do it justice. You can’t feel the welcome I always feel there and the fact it is a home and not just a house. Also, it’s never that clean. Where are the toys in the floor?
Julie,
I love your house!! It is beautiful!! and is so what you always talked about having. It is your castle, has your style all over it. Princess living at its best!!
and yes, I’m sure (having a boy myself) that once they find out about the loft issue they will want to be there all the time. By the way love the new blog home!!
Ami
I must know, how do you keep from knocking your decorations into the bathtub? You clearly don’t have housecats. Cripes, I bomb my feet with shampoo bottles and the soap like daily.
Seriously now…How long does it take you to dust?
