American Idol – Top 7

April 21, 2009

in Time With My TiVo

Last week was an exciting night for the contestants of American Idol.

Matt Giraud lived to see another week after the judges used the one and only contestant save on him. He better BRING it. OhCrap! it’s starting already.

Thanks for the prep time, Ryan. You didn’t even give a girl enough time to type an opening paragraph.

LIL ROUNDS – “I’m Every Woman” – The past few weeks have not been good ones for Lil. She really needs to show the judges who she is as an artist. I’m thinking she has shown them time and time again – and she’s shown that she’s consistently not a very good one. Maybe that will change for her tonight. It was just okay for me. – Randy says she can really sing, but is still searching for what kind of artist she is, Kara was not too impressed either, Paula applauds her vocals after being voiceless yesterday, Simon claims this is probably Lil’s last week, also saying the performace lacked originality.

Well alrightythen.

Way to kick off  DISCO NIGHT, Lil.

My OCD enjoys hearing from all of the judges after each performance.

KRIS ALLEN  – “She Works Hard For The Money” -  I love the acoustic version of this song. Ya’ll know that I adore Kris. In fact, I think he is stinkin’ brilliant. I’m not a big fan of the actual song, but I like the way he has changed it up. Play that funky music, white boy! – Kara likes it alot, Paula says it has a classy Santana feel, Simon and Paula have their little love spat while Kris looks on, he says the performance was well thought out and original, Randy says Kris is ready for the bigtimedawg! He even calls Kris amazing. And I do, too!

DANNY GOKEY – “September” -  I am always impressed with Danny. He is consistant. He is a hottie. And he can SANG. LOVE IT! and LOVE HIM!  -  Randy says the song worked for him, Kara calls Danny an incredible vocalist and says he is always solid, Paula uses the word amazing and says, and I quote, “you chose vocally to show your agility and your brilliance” and then says he has one of the sexiest voices evah, Simon says he agrees with the judges but claims the performance lacked you are wrong, Simon star power. you are wrong, Simon.

ALISON IRAHETA – “Hot Stuff” – I always have to remind myself that this gal is only 16. *Big sigh* One thing about Alison though. Her wardrobe is consistently hideous. Her stylist has it all wrong. Her performance is pretty good, but I still don’t think she is as talented as Danny or Kris. She is an awesome performer. – Randy says he didn’t care for the arrangement, but says she is one of the best singers in the competition, Kara says she picked the right song and says the performance was a 9-10, Paula is rambling about authenticity and says, oh never mind, Simon says the performance was brilliant. *Shaking my head, still trying to decipher Pauler’s thoughts*

ADAM LAMBERT – “If I Can’t Have You” -  Here we go. I can already tell you that I like it. There’s no doubt that this cat can sing. I just have trouble getting past the black nail polish and the guyliner. All of that aside, he is bringing it. (Paula appears to be crying). In my opinion, he hit it out of the park. – Randy says he is ready right!now!, Kara calls him brilliant and says this is his most memorable performance, Paula is babbling about pain and vulnerability, blah, blah and more blah, Simon says he gave an unexpected performance and that the vocals werre immaculate.

MATT GIRAUD – “Stayin’ Alive” – This is one of my favorite songs. LOVE IT! He brung all he had tonight. I’m tapping my toes and rockin in my big, blue, bloggy chair proving that he belongs in the competition. FUNKY! Have I mentioned that I love it?  – Randy says he didn’t like the song choice or the arrangement, but says Matt can really sing, Kara says it was a solid performance, Paula says after tonight’s performance, he will be staying, Simon didn’t like it wrong again, Simon, saying that he came over a bit desperate and said it lacked originality plugging my fingers in my ears until he’s done babbling….

ANOOP DESAI – “To Dim All The Lights” – Is myboy wearing a pink sweater? Yes, I believe he is. The performance is good. But, I think in a pile of tonight’s performances it would be some place close to the bottom. Right on top of Lil’s. – Randy didn’t really like the arrangement but says Noop Dog can really sing, Kara says he is hitting his stride, Paula says he looks fantastic and says he has beautiful vocals, Simon completely disagrees and calls it mediocre. I would have to agree with Simon this time.

BOTTOM THREE - Lil, Anoop and Alison

GOING HOME - Lil and Anoop

BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT: sorry Danny, I do love you, but I have to give this one to Kris.

Oh, sweet hallelujah, David Archuleta will be singing tomorrow night. I am so excited. I loved that boy and thought he was robbed last year.

I’ve missed you, David!!!

Yes. Kris rocked it. Love him.

And I’m with you in the minority of people who though David A. should have beat David C. by a mile.

Kris was the bestest ever!

How do you manage to watch the show & blog with two boys? Are they in bed when AI comes on?? I have a hard time watching it with four dogs running around.

We agree, once again! I LOVE Danny, but Kris was the BEST last night. I’m pretty sure Lil goes home, toss up between Matt or Anoop for the second elimination.
AND I would have thought Allison would have fired her Stylist by now…

Ok, many opinions, where do I start…
1. As much as he is a cute boy, I don’t think Archuleta was robbed last year- the correct David won.

2. If one of my girls at the age of 16 will ever even THINK of wearing what Allison had on last night, they will be grounded for a month. (Skin-tight leather and a mini on a young teenager???)

3. sorry, Jules, but Adam was by far the best last night.

4. I was about to comment about how well or how bad you called the eliminations, but at the chance I will ruin fit or west coast winners, I will refrain.
