I am blogging live from my big, blue, bloggy chair.
Thanks to mine and McDaddy’s friend, Barry, my laptop has been resurrected after a near-death experience from four days ago. I am so stinkin’ thankful. You cannot understand my distress in dealing with what I thought was the death of my laptop after everything I’ve been through over the weekend that resulted in us not being able to visit McDaddy at his six-month deployment location.
But enough about that.
It is with a huge sigh of relief that I am finally able to cozy up in my bloggy chair with my laptop nestled securely in my lap.
And THIS?
THIS! Is American Idol.
It is Rock Week and this week’s mentor is Slash.
The whole Guns-N-Roses thing reminds me of my high school years. I would love to hear Danny rock it out to Sweet Child of Mine, or Kris do an acoustic version of Welcome To The Jungle. We shall see my friends. We shall see. I might as well tell you that I’m not a big rock-n-roll fan, although I do have several Aerosmith songs on my iPod. And maybe a Motley Crue or two. Sadly though, that’s where my relationship with rock and roll ends.
Hold on to your hats kids, the ride could get bumpy tonight. Especially with Kara’s inner rock freak coming out. What in the heck is she wearing anyway?
ADAM LAMBERT – “Whole Lotta Love” - Oh for the love. He has on guyliner again. I just don’t have a whole lotta love for the guyliner. He has a beautiful smile and the guyliner just doesn’t do anything for him. I’m not too impressed with the song, but I suppose all of the Adam fans out there will rave about it as always. As much as I am not an Adam fan, he does have a really good voice. THOUGH. NOT. IMPRESSED. AT. ALL. – Randy says he is a rock-star waiting to happen, Kara calls him a rock god. (That phrase makes me cringe!), Paula says he is a whole lotta perfect, Simon says it was one of his favorite performances of Adam’s. I really don’t get it, but whatever.
ALLISON IRAHETA – “Cry Baby” - Nice. Allison just mentioned that she and Adam went to the same hair girl. I have to say Adam got the better end of that deal. I’ve never heard this song before but Allison is singing her heart out. Sometimes I have to remind myself that this gal is still a teenager. I enjoyed her performance more than Adam’s but the song seems kind of boring to me. – Randy says it was the wrong song choice, Kara is babbling on about personality and giving props, Paula says she did a great job and Simon says it was a terrific vocal but didn’t really like her song choice.
Duet with my two favorites, Danny and Kris singing Renegade – Oh, sweet mercy I will be making a trip to iTunes thankyouverymuchforpairingupmyboyfriends. The two of them sound great together.
KRIS ALLEN – “Come Together” - Kris is so dang cute. He just said he almost peed his pants when Slash was rehearsing with him. I love his voice and I love this performance. LOVE! IT! – Randy says he liked the vocals, but loved what he did on the guitar, Kara says it was not a great performance (cannit, Kara!), Paula says the artistic delivery was good but said he needed more energy, Simon says he didn’t like the performance. (Is it just me or was that hawt? Am I the only one that thinks that?)
DANNY GOKEY – “Dream On” - Bring it Dannyboy. Definitely not my favorite performance of his but I am a big Danny fan. – Randy gives it an A+ for effort, Kara says he took the performance way too far but commends him for taking chances, Paula says it was the wrong song choice but thought he did a good job on the song, Simon was not at all impressed but says he will be safe this week.
Duet with Adam and Allison singing Slow Ride – The judges are tripping all over themselves raving about the performance. I guess I’m just too country or too pop or too contemporary to really appreciate the whole thing.
BEST PERFORMANCE – Kris
GOING HOME – *crossing fingers* Allison

I think Danny needs to go just based on tonight’s performance. It probably won’t happen like that though.
Crossing my fingers for Allison, too…
Second Suzy commenting: Loved Kris even though I don’t like the Beatles or that song sung by Aerosmith.
