Thursday Thirteen – Wild, Wonderful West Virginia
I couldn’t resist using Wild, Wonderful, West Virginia in this week’s Thursday Thirteen.
It’s W’s turn so I thought I would take this chance to honor of my home state. WV is a wonderful place to live and I’m thankful for our little mountain-top home in the midst of the West Virginia Hills.
Where to start?
1. WATCH – Sometime in 2007, McDaddy received a catalog from his company with a note thanking him for 10 years of service. He was given the chance to choose a gift as their “token of appreciation” for his years of service. I was surprised to find out that he chose a FOSSIL watch for me. A few months later, my irresponsible self left the watch in the cup-holder on a treadmill at the Y. As luck would have it, my watch was found by some dishonest sap that kept the watch for themselves. I think about the watch and the idiot that stole it often. My in-laws replaced the watch for my birthday. It looks like this.

2. WEAPON – The only weapon in our house looks like this (except that it is covered in blue metallic tape).

That happens to by a majorette rifle. Rest assured that while there are no bullets in this gun, the sheer force with which I would knock an intruder or a mouse upside their head would be enough to knock the the would-be robber out cold and probably cause some sort of head trauma.
3. WHY? - I hear that word approximately 1.683 times every day. It is a favorite among my six and three-year-old.
4. WIN – I have recently won two blog give-aways. The first was a personal e-mail device called a PEEK which ended in disaster and the other was a radius toothbrush. I chose the berry one.

5. WINTER - My least favorite season. I don’t so much mind the snow as long as I can sit in the warmth of my home and watch it snow or if my kids want to play outside in it. Otherwise, me and the winter do not get along. I am not a fan of its icy roads, it freezing temperatures or its dark before 6pm requirement. In fact, the simple thought of winter as I type this paragraph makes me cringe.
6. WISH – I wish my sweet McDaddy could come home TODAY. I miss him and cannot wait for him to be home.

7. WITHOUT – I could do without the telemarketer calls from the stupid ‘car warranty about to expire’ people. The USA can put a man on the moon, but for some reason we are not able to locate the source for these stupid calls? Are you friggin’ kiddin’ me.
One morning, I decided to contact the attorney general in WV to report these fools and their scam. I was told that without the name of the company, there “is not a thing we can do!” Seriously? With the technology available today, the Attorney General should 1) not only be able to uncover the source of these irritating phone calls, but SHOULD 2) with 100% certainty be able to locate the whereabouts of this company within a one-mile radius.
Garcia (Criminal Minds) could locate the place in record time.
8. WORRY – Me and the worry used to be really tight. As I age however, I worry less and pray more.
9. WAFFLES – I like Eggo blueberry waffles or the really thick waffle you get at a restaurant. But ONLY if the waffle are slathered in butter and syrup. (FYI – McDaddy eats his pancakes and waffles without syrup – *sigh*)
10. WISCONSIN - When McDaddy surprised me with a 10th anniversary trip to the Mall of America, we took an afternoon and drove to Wisconsin because neither of us had ever been there. It was a beautiful, sunny , Sunday afternoon.

11. WALTZ – I’d like to do the waltz (or any dance for that matter) with this guy.

12. WEDDING - I enjoyed planning my wedding. It was a lot of fun, but if I had it to do over, I would scale it down and change the colors.
Instead of this bouquet that I carried (and loved!)

I would choose this much brighter one
13. WHEELS – I need a new set of wheels! (Doesn’t it appear to be smiling at me?)

Yessir, another week, another Saturn Sky!!!
Enjoy your Thursday peeps!

The Saturn Sky picture is missing
I thought of you a few weeks ago when I heard on the radio that the Saturn company was purchased by another company. Long live the Sky!
