Welcome to my blog. I'm Julie, a 36 year old wife and stay-at-home mom who rarely stays home. I am married to the best husband (McDaddy) a girl could ask for and I have two of the cutest little boys on the planet, Stevie (age 7) and Alex (age 4).

If you've come here looking for a daily dose of crazy, you've come to the right place.

Another Culinary Delight

I would be lying if I told you that I am a culinary genius.

Actually, I’d be lying if I told you I was a genius of any kind.

Because of that, it might surprise some of my IRL friends that I am posting a recipe on my blog.

While it is obvious from all appearances that I have a love for all things sweet, it is a well-known fact that I am not known for my mad skillz in the kitchen. For that reason, when I find something that works, and I mean really works, especially in the kitchen, I feel the need to share it. And, for something to really work for me in the kitchen it must meet the following criteria.

  • fast
  • easy
  • fail proof

What can I say? I’m a simple girl.

  • Prepare a regular cake and bake it according to the directions in a 9X13 pan  (a white cake works best)
  • Just before it is done baking, dissolve one 3 oz. package of jello in a cup of boiling water.
  • Stir in just 1/2 cup of cold water
  • Poke the cake with a fork every inch or so and then carefully pour the jello all over the cake. (Pour slowly to allow the jello some time to seep into holes)
  • Chill for a couple of hours
  • Cut into pieces and cover with whipped topping and your favorite fruit.
