Another Culinary Delight
I would be lying if I told you that I am a culinary genius.
Actually, I’d be lying if I told you I was a genius of any kind.
Because of that, it might surprise some of my IRL friends that I am posting a recipe on my blog.
While it is obvious from all appearances that I have a love for all things sweet, it is a well-known fact that I am not known for my mad skillz in the kitchen. For that reason, when I find something that works, and I mean really works, especially in the kitchen, I feel the need to share it. And, for something to really work for me in the kitchen it must meet the following criteria.
- fast
- easy
- fail proof
What can I say? I’m a simple girl.
-
Prepare a regular cake and bake it according to the directions in a 9X13 pan (a white cake works best)
-
Just before it is done baking, dissolve one 3 oz. package of jello in a cup of boiling water.
-
Stir in just 1/2 cup of cold water
-
Poke the cake with a fork every inch or so and then carefully pour the jello all over the cake. (Pour slowly to allow the jello some time to seep into holes)
-
Chill for a couple of hours
-
Cut into pieces and cover with whipped topping and your favorite fruit.

Easy or not – that is one good cake. Don’t ask me how I know. Because I certainly would never make something so easy and pass it off as a dessert one could entertain with…
