First Day of First Grade

August 27, 2009

in Stevie

Dear Stevie:

It seems like just yesterday I was cradling your eight-pound body in the hospital wondering if you and I would ever get the whole nursing thing figured out.

Today, I blinked back tears as I thought of you starting the first grade.

Time is forging by with or without my permission.

With your Mario Kart backpack slung over your shoulders, you confidently walked into school ready to face a new year and a new teacher.

It thrills me that you are so excited about the first grade. Your classroom looks like a fun place in which to learn.

You are a delightfully, pleasant kid with a wonderful sense of humor. I hope you have a wonderful year, sweet boy!

I’m glad you are mine!!!

Love, Mommy

Aaahhh, I used to work in first grade…I loved it. That is such a great age to work with. I was a parapro for 15 years–in the same classroom. I hope your son has a great year! He’ll learn a lot!

They grow so fast, it is hard to believe some days.

Boo is starting 2nd this year, and that blows my mind. Even worse is Hunter starting 7th!

My twins girls started First Grade this week too. It is so hard to believe that they are 6 already. They grow up and become independent so fast. The great thing about blogging is that it gives you a chance to document all of their milestones and share them with other bloggers.
