Oh Yes, It’s Almost Time!

February 9, 2010

in Works For Me Wednesday

I am a huge fan of the Olympics. Beginning on Friday, February 12, 2010, it is a safe bet, that I will keep a low profile because I will watch every Olympic Event I am able to catch with the help of my beloved TiVo.

Ski Jumping, Luge, Short Track, Freestyle skiing, Snowboard, Curling, Speed Skating, Snowboard, Bobsleigh, Skeleton (whatever that is!), Freestyle Skiing, short track, and Biathlon.

And yes, I realize I mentioned short track twice. It’s one of my favorite events thanks to this cat!

Along with Ohno, these are some of the things I have to look forward to…

Less sleep

Bonding time with the TiVo

Whoopin’ and Hollerin’

Live blogging

Getting teary eyed during the Star Spangled  Banner

Dan Hicks and his impressive interviews

Buying batteries for the TiVo remote

Night after night of Figure skating

Apolo Anton Ohno

Apolo Anton Ohno’s headband

1/100th of a point wins

Researching this whole Skeleton thing to find out what thats all about

Late nights

Less sleep

Can’t wait for the Olympics and the United States Olympic Team! Go Team USA

Oh, and too bad swimming is not part of the Winter Games because I love Phelpsie!

I’ve always loved curling thingy. It’s so silly and they are so very serious while doing it. Hilarious.

Enjoy your games!

Im with you…cant wait! I watched as much Summer Olympics as I could last time. I’ll be sitting on my couch blogging, working, tweeting rather than in my office for a few weeks. And getting less sleep!

To bad we didn’t live closer – I’d totally have you over for a Olympic party. We could cheer on “that cat” {you crack me up with that btw} and you could bring that sinful concoction of a dessert recipe you posted a few weeks ago…

I’m with ya’! I love watching with the boys -It’s so rare for them to see the Olympics, and it’s fun opening their eyes to all the new sports.

And skeleton? Just like the luge, but FACE FIRST!!! It’s my favorite, because I would NEVER have those guts. Never.

We’re total Olympics fanatics, too. We were invited to a party on Friday night and we were aghast at the idea of missing the opening ceremonies just to see our friends and neighbors! ;) And as for going out on Valentine’s Day… forget it! We would miss too many events if we were away from our TV long enough to go out for the evening.

My favorite is ice-skating. They make it look so easy. I always imagine that it is I out there on the ice. Fat chance. :=( But in my fantasy world, there am I! :) Free as a bird – breeze in my face – graceful as a swan – and of course, I win the gold! Ahem….reality check….too late for me; but I love to watch them and imagine. :)

I think I’m the only person I know that doesn’t dig the Olympics. I’m always annoyed that my regular shows aren’t on. Awful, isn’t it?

I am so excited as well. I ALWAYS get teary-eyed during the Star Spangled Banner. When we go to the movie theater on base, it plays before the previews start and everyone stands (and I always get teary-eyed).

I don’t really do the olympics. They kinda bore me.

We love the Olympics here as well, doesn’t matter winter or summer they are all great. I hadn’t actually thought about doing live blogging while watching but that’s not a bad idea!!

No cable/dish here just network. We’ll be taping the Opening ceremonies as both my girl and I will not be home so we’ll probably stay up late Friday night after it’s over to watch them.
