Hundreds, perhaps thousands of bloggers will be converging on New York for BlogHer 2010.
Sadly, I am not one of those bloggers.
Instead, I am participating in the No-Go BlogHer blog hop sponsored by To Be Thode and Marf Mom.
We have been asked to answer a couple of questions and then. THEN, we will be entered to win one of the really great prizes offered by these two generous gals and their sponsors. And since my bloggy luck has been pretty awesome as of late, I decided to play along.
So here goes.
1. When did you start blogging?
- I started blogging back in 2006 over on mySpace, but I took the plunge and started From Inmates To Playdates in November, 2008.
2. Why did you start blogging?
- I started blogging because I happened upon a blog over on mySpace. I started my own blog here on the world wide web because I enjoy making people laugh and because it is all mine! As a mother and wife, few things are all mine. This here blog though? ALL. MINE.
3. What is one thing you are going to do this week that is WAY cooler than going to BlogHer?
- I know without a doubt that I would miss my fellas if I travelled to BlogHer. Instead of missing them, I’ll be right here serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to two of the cutest little boys on the planet. Oh, and I’ll be spreading my fabulosity along the way, too!
4. Share a post that you thing says a lot about you or is your favorite.
- Um, there are lots of them, but I’d have to say the post I wrote after watching an embalming probably speaks volumes about my quirks – it’s entitled What I Learned At The Funeral Home.

I love you. You’re dark and twisty like me. I would totally, totally go watch an embalming. Actually, I just took a human anatomy course (I’m a pre-nursing student) that included a cadaver lab, and I’m going to do my darndest to be able to be one of the cadaver dissectors in one of the upcoming semesters. It’s all so interesting! So glad I found you through the blog hop!

I briefly considered trying to attend BlogHer while we are here on hols near Boston but decided it was too much to try to squeeze in and my main role on holiday is to be the sat-nav, who knows where the rest of my family would have ended up!

Ok, that embalming post cracked me up! See, the only difference between you and most of us, *uhem* me, is you are bloggily (is that a word? why, yes, yes it is a word, now!) vocal about the weird stuff that peaks your curiosity. Me, I mostly just ramble on about it here at home, and get strange looks from my hubby which makes me think he’s wondering WHY he married me, cuz I’m so weird and all. Heh. Actually, he probably wonders that every morning when he wakes up, rolls over, and finds me there with drool down my cheek, a puddle on the pillow, and my hair looking like something from the Exorcist. But hey, nobody’s perfect, right?
Well, I sure am long winded. All this to tell you… I love your blog. You made me laugh, and I love to laugh. I found you through NO-GO, and I plan to come back every.single.day! (Scary, I know!) So now I get to stalk, I mean follow, you!
You remind me a lot of my aunt. Same sense of humor and same facination for things that most people cringe at. Looking forward to following!
Hmmm… You weren’t kidding about the comment taking a minute to show up. I’m wondering if it will lol. Anyway, I heard someone say once that the only difference between being a prison guard and being a bus driver is that in the first instance they are in front of you and in the second instance they are behind you LOL!
I LOVE the name of your blog! the embalming post was really interesting. definitely sounds like something i’d want to watch on tv, but i’m not sure i could stomach the smell in person. i’m guessing it smells strongly of formaldehyde?

Secondly, loved your post about embalming. I’m not positive that I’d be brave enough to watch an embalming myself. I think it’s hilarious that you did and enjoyed it so much though. I can imagine it was pretty interesting. Now I kind of want to…. I just need a mortician friend. Thanks.

I didn’t know what to expect with the funeral post but it was interesting. I had no idea they wired the mouths shut and that the mortician did the make-up, I imagined it was a make up artist or something like that!!
