What I Learned This Week:
1. The young employees at Chuck E. Cheese take the job of security – complete with the white light number stamper – very seriously. So serious in fact that my friend was told she could not take her son home because his number matched mine and I had already left. After some convincing from her son, she was permitted to take him out of the CEC establishment.
2. Mike and Molly is a really cute show.
3. One of my favorite things about fall is the smell of fall candles burning in the evenings.
4. When the little notebook that you write everything in goes missing from your purse, there’s a pretty good chance your four-year-old left it in the pew at church.
5. Sometimes I want to ask two friends from FB how they know each other. And then it hits me that it might not be my business. Sometimes I ask anyway…
6. If you ever have the opportunity to purchase Jonagold apples, I would suggest you purchase the bushel instead of the peck because your four-year-old will ask for one every. single. day.
7. When your hairdresser suggests you should try “caramel” highlights, you should know the “caramel” highlights will barely not show if you have light brown hair.
8. When your four-year-old has a birthday in fourteen days, he will mention it several times daily.
9. If your seven-year-old is peddling popcorn for the Cub Scouts throughout the neighborhood, chances are, he will have great success if he is wearing his uniform.
10. Accelerated Reader points are very important to a second grader.
11. If you have greyish tinted dry skin on your elbows, cut a lemon in half and rest an elbow on each half for 10 minutes. The acid in the lemon juice somehow breaks the dark spots down.

Wait…aren’t our hairdresser supposed to know best? Arghh…I LONG for their suggestions, and they better be right! I love the b-day longing too. I have to ask, is it on Halloween or Nov. 1st? My son’s 3rd party is on the 30th and his b-day is the 6th of Nov.
I ALWAYS want to ask Facebook friends how they know each other! Glad I’m not alone!

Just wanted to let you know I was following some crazy internet trail and found your blog and I’ve been back every day since! The title pulled me in (my husband was a probation parole officer for a short time, so I knew there’d be funny stories) but your humor keeps me coming back. I’m not one to comment much, but I wanted to say a quick hi! and let you know how much I enjoy your writing.

I don’t miss the peddling popcorn days with Cub Scouts. And, really, your hair dresser should have known better!! So…how did your hair turn out?

What I learned this week:
That Magic Jack works in Mexico!
That a cloudy day can quickly turn sunny.
That there are no tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nor taco salads in the Mexican restaurant at this resort!
That 80 degrees can feel like 90 – but that’s ok!
That there is NEVER nothing to do at resorts!
That a Mexican raccoon’s mask is not nearly as defined and cute as the “American” raccoon’s mask. And they look more like weasels here to me – and run wild on the grounds of this resort!
