Following Directions

in Because I Like To Ramble

It is a rare day here at From Inmates To Playdates, Inc.

I am writing about something that I know very little about.

Recipes.

This is an easy one. And a good one.

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 chicken breasts
  •  20 ounce can of pineapple chunks
  • 1 bottle of barbecue sauce (I chose sweet and tangy because anything sweet has to be better, right?)

Directions:

  • Spray the inside of your crock pot OR use a handy-dandy crock-pot liner.
  • Place chicken breasts (frozen, even!) in the crock pot and cover with barbecue sauce.
  • Empty can of drained pineapple chunks on top of chicken.
  • Cook on High for 2-3 hours or Low for 4-6 hours.
  • Enjoy.

It is worth mentioning that I’ve never been good at following directions.

I say that because the recipe called for me to shred the chicken while it was still in the crock-pot so that it was well covered in barbecue sauce. Which makes all kinds of sense because without shredding it, you just have 4-6 barbecue chicken breasts covered in barbecue sauce.

And even though the 4-6 chicken breasts covered in barbecue sauce was okay, I imagine the 4-6 shredded chicken breasts doused in barbecue sauce would be much better.

So, don’t leave that step out, mkay?

And today, I’m trying out a recipe for a Coca Cola Cake which makes me nine kinds of happy because how can you go wrong with a cake filled with Coca Cola?

Unless you leave out a step.

Wish me luck, folks. Wish me luck.

Julie! You are awesome!! I was just thinking of some new recipes for the crockpot, and this looks like it will fit the bill! Thank you so much for posting this!

How is Colton doing?

Oh, and good luck on the cake. I am not good with cakes, so I avoid them!

I can’t wait to try that recipe! I love recipes that have less than 5 ingredients, and I also love using the crockpot because it’s so easy. Thanks for sharing!
